Day eleven

 

Thursday  July 13  

An almost clear day and a day we decided to change our destination.

In the end, it was better than planned.

Tanner got us started with a first class breakfast

The ride:   Rothorn Bahn

Then up higher and higher we go and about 1/2 way to the top, we get off and enjoy a rare space

This one is for Darrell 

And then we see the sign...

Lunch by candlelight...no electricity 
and I think only rain water

and or bacon and vegetables

Recognize a face on the far left?  Yep, he was here too 

The couple made us feel very much at home.   The meal was relaxed and  Reto shared about their life.  He had been a photographer,  journalist, and  travelled all around the world. Fabienne had been a great chef and now they purchased this little place, just three months ago.   Only open during the summer months, also a Pub and Hostel next door.    

We chatted about the good cheese that Darrell and Damon had purchased nearby last year and Fabienne got on the phone and, presto, a delivery was on the way. 

Now that does not happen every day !  But maybe in Switzerland.

They also gave us a few reflections of art.

A great lead into Raclette for dinner 

But first a little  shopping in town, or just enjoying the quaintness of this area.  

and then to Raclette dinner prepared by my Swiss kids
