A night out

after spending the whole day inside  and not feeling hungry until about 5:00
it was time to go out to eat.
I thought  I would just do the drive up window since
I had been coughing and blowing my nose and could hardly talk.  So I did not bother to change from my mismatched sweats.
That was the first mistake.
I remembered that I needed to keep track of my blood pressure once a week.
So that meant going to Bartell's.   Wouldn't you know, two of my favorite cashiers were on duty.
Oh well.
BP was out of the normal range, so off to the DQ.
That was the second mistake.
Decided it is more interesting to go inside and watch people than to go through the drive up window.
Did not see anyone I knew
several groups - families, together, and some of them taking off for home on their bikes.
Yes, it was 77 degrees and a perfect night for being out together.

Back to Bartell's to check BP- normal !

Driving home, I passed a father and his daughter I had seen at the DQ.  The little girl was struggling a bit on her bike, but Dad was there for her. In no hurry.

More times together with family.
More times without being in a hurry.
That is what I call time well spent.

( though i am alone tonight, I just spent 4 days with family in Minneapolis - good times, good memories )

When you come to the end of a perfect day

 or a pefect week...

( glad they love each other.
so glad they live close to me.   )

Guess I should start with Monday.  We helped put on a dinner for some men who are waiting for employment. They are living at our neighborhood church and our small group took a turn to prepared the meal……    Kind of out of my comfort, once I am out of the kitchen. But a friend accompanied me and we ended up at a table with some very friendly and normal guys.  One is a painter and was able to give some  tips on that project .  We laughed a little and enjoyed what they called “ the most amazing meal “. Brought my camera, but forgot to use it.

Wednesday evening was a black tie 90th birthday dinner for my aunt.  I am still feeling the excitement. We spent 4 hours in a very warm and welcoming atmosphere.  Cousins, conversation , delightful food and service with  smiles.
         Photos of food family and......

                                                 Birthday Princess, Aunt Pat

                                             Lobster Bisque
                                                    Birthday cake

Friday was a first time catered dinner at our home.  We wanted to thank  the many helping hands that brought us through more than two months of recovering from a broken wrist.  It was Good Friday in more ways than one, so at least half of the intended guests were either singing in the choir and committed to attending their church service.    As always, the right group of guests  were around our table.  Why didn’t I take a photo of more than the food ?

Today is Easter.A beautiful sunny day in Bellevue.

I love poka dots

living in Seattle you can always use another raincoat !
especially a cute poka dot raincoat !
My wonderful friend Bonnie, pulled this darling raincoat out of her closet and said
" you like poka dots, I want you to have this "  so...
                       1. It fit perfectly
                                 2. I love poka dots
                                      3. At the risk of hurting her feelings
I said thank you so much
The very next day I threw that beauty over my sweats and headed out the door to run an errand.  No one knew what was underneath that classy coat and I was feeling so spunky, I decided the next stop would be the  DQ.
I was hungry since  all I had for lunch was 1/2 a piece of salmon. very small.
I have a new favorite
The turtle blizzard.    I came without any reading material so I just people watched.   Three young girls came and bought one, just one dilly bar.   A very grown up man ordered a small cone.
My blizzard was much more interesting.  In fact, it was so interesting, I came back to the DQ again today.
This time I had some reading material with me.   Guideposts.  Always nice short and true stories.  Right on the cover was a familiar face - she was in the Hallmark movie Sally and I had just seen a night or two ago.  We both thought she had beautiful eyes. Turns out  she depends on God in her life. And she stars in Biggest Losers.   I have never seen that show, but if you have, do you know her name?

  Should I tell you?

 OK Alison Sweeney.
So now we both know three things about that lady with  the beautiful eyes.
