Seattle

A trip into the big city can be quite an adventure

and it was

We had reservations for dinner at a new spot
a special spot
Donna is the chef and her Mama is my very good friend
( yes, she moved back to Georgia, but I still love her )

With Restaurant Week in Seattle, we had a great reason to try

                     The Tin Table

This is the sign at the door  and then

These are the stairs you walk up

This is the entry ..the desk to the right is where you check in

This wall is between the entry and the refreshment area

And this is the view into

                                        The Tin Table

and our "window" view

It is restaurant week  and a special menu

Appetizer... shrimp and scallops

Crostini appetizer for me

Both of us chose Lamb Chops..
No regrets

Now for the reason we came tonight

Donna is on the left....

yes, it is a selfie

and yes, she should have taken another shot

but

When we go back, she ( me )  will get a better picture.
And then it was time to go home.   On our way back to our car there were a few sights we do not see in Bellevue..

Well, first we go back down the stairs...

This is the Grand Ballroom.  It has been part of the Odd Fellows building for many years
Built in 1908  /  The Century Ballroom

If you get lost,  just read the sign  " you are here "

And that is the end of my story.
And we plan to go back ...maybe on a sunny afternoon
There is much to see off  Broadway in Seattle.

Dear Marti

Thank you Marti,

Your sweet note arrived yesterday and I just have to tell the world ( well, ok, the handful of "followers" who are part of my world )

The art of  Hand Written Thank notes is still alive

And I am happy to say that I often receive notes and I save them
( if anyone takes the time and effort to write, then I want to save it for a few weeks and pray for the sender  )

This is my kitchen counter today. And all of these have blessed me recently

And, as I always say

I live an exciting life

Once again,,,

on the plane

A movie

Shocking, and harsh,  but truth.

I am partial to Cadillac's

One thing about movies on planes... can't always hear the dialogue plainly, but, pictures are worth a 1,000 words.    And, since I was told to keep my phone turned off, I snagged a couple shots and then obeyed.

Ok. that is the only clue

The story brings two proud men with very different backgrounds together.        Takes a while, but they learn from each other.
 And I learned too.

Oh, my favorite part is the end... but, I am not going to tell you. But I sure would like to know if your eyes were swimming by then.

Did you guess ?
( the title has a color in it )
Have you seen it  ?

Was it just another day?

No, not just another day.

We got to spend time with family.   That makes it a special day..... read on....

 Saturday  was a fun day.
Early start with Tanners game.  This is very elementary with the boys 5 - 7 and adult pitching and everyone gets to hit.   They are easily distracted, but have fun.  That is the way sport should be, especially at age 7 !

Then we went to the Swiss Club Hall in Monroe.

We took the scenic route...
                            Cattle country
The bluest skies you'll ever see
                                                  And beyond...

Since our visit to Switzerland, Damon has been very interested in Swiss heritage.   ( Darrell, Damon and I are all members now, but that is another story )
The Seattle Club sponsored this fondue event  ( $25 each and bring a side dish ).  So, Damon, Tiffany, Sebastian and I went.   The fondue was delicious.

There was this one couple.  I think they missed dessert.  They finished off the last drop of fondue and added a little more of the liquid ingredient and ......

There were great side dishes.

Wonderful desserts...I brought cupcakes.... sent most of them home with Damon to take to church... Sebastian was the only person under the age of about 30  ðŸ˜Š     But he seemed to enjoy the time.    Someone brought several boxes of Swiss memorabilia  to give away. They are moving.

So we brought home two records, two candles, one t shirt and one egg cup.  Sebastian brought home a game
Everything is in German, so ↓  they made up their own rules.

It started at 3 and was over about 5:30.  So we had time to head over the the mall and listen to the music. The man at the keyboard recognized us   ( I think I know why, but don't ask )  He is more "entertaining" in a different way, than our favorite Andy  Markovick , but that is another story.     Tonight he wore a dark blue kimono style jacket.   Last time, he was all in red.
