garage Sales

This year looked a little different

Since Sister could not participate, I was not sure if I could do it on my own. Then Rebecca came into our world.

The date was set...this year Saturday only... all week to set up... so organized

Always complimentary coffee and cookies

and then it rained.   not just a drizzle, but rain.

We were thankful for a few hearty shoppers and especially for our favorite cookbook collecting neighbor who wanted all I had ready...  and that was our biggest sale   $46.

Hubby was able to get away… a memorial ( hard for me to miss, but glad he was able to make it ). Long time friend, now in heaven.  His family gave a wonderful tribute to him, his wife and the Lord

Oh, Ev and Jan, also neighbors, came by ( not to buy ) To visit and leave a special chocolate that makes a celebration drink for the end of the day

Neighbor Carole found a little treasure

Benjamin and Bradon, live across the street, they always come over a few times. but this year, no purchases. They are having their own sale.

Esther and Beth ( saw the Facebook notice ) old friends we love from Kirkland . They each found something to take home

Two little girls from our block wanted to buy something "practical"  They bought a stapler and a piggy bank.

At the end of the day Rebecca very positively said that the tables looked emptier and she observed that the customers who came at the end of the day had seen the signs.

Thank you hubby for good signing.

If we would tag a name for this sale, it might be Not a Sale
      or the
Sale of All Cookbooks

BUT WAIT

We also have an annual sale at Tiffany's    ( not the Jewelry store, my daughter )

That sale is also very organized and Sister was there too.  The weather was bright and very sunny as we finished setting up on Thursday afternoon

in fact... Tiffany said " I smell something"    and then a little later " I see smoke"

Yes, the sun had reflected off the glitter on a plaque, onto a cotton apron and thankfully we were there to put it out.   The hole was about the size of a dime and ..... don't want to think about what might have happened next.

On to Elk Run annual community sale.

We had two very good days and the weather was good...just a little chilly in the afternoon.  That was when a young mother who had followed the signs, brought her 3 children and they tallied up  $103.00   ..  $63. ( beanie babies)  and the rest were water toys.    Now that is a fun Mama.

The most memorable customer came while I was napping, but here is how the story goes.

It seemed he wanted to pay $2. for each purchase.   Even the shirt for $10.   He did not like the answer and got very upset and threw the garment down.  In the process he also threw a few coins on the floor.
four quarters !    No sale, but $1.00 tip

( turns out he might live nearby, Tiffany has seen him twice since the sale )

We all felt like it was a successful sale, as well as fun time together.
Sister always makes cinnamon toast in the morning and huge sandwiches for lunch.   Friday night our tradition is Red Robin.

And the highlight of this sale was a visit from my special friend Renee.  She came to visit.  And we did. It was delightful

We could tag this sale as the customer who was angry and acted like a spoiled child,  or  " The sale with the fire"

I live an exciting life
