another day

 And another random observation...

Hi Marti, J & K  ♥

Pedicure time, for me and my Lady Z.  She is 92 and since she does not drive any more, I take her with me.

We have a favorite spot, just about 5 minutes away

Today is not a real busy day, there is only one other patron getting "the treatment"

It is a gentleman.  That is no surprise. A time or two prior, I have seen a male customer and believe me I KNOW a couple gentlemen who SHOULD be in that chair.

This gentleman is on the phone...does that ring ♫ a bell ? !   He is making sure that someone knows where to put the pods.  There is plenty of room for the pods.  There are plenty of pods.

Not really paying attention, but this very tall gentleman in yellow has a very good voice and I am sure the party on the other end should be getting the picture.  He also has very nice looking feet.  They are big, and clean and no polish.  Right now he is getting his fingernails buffed. I cannot see the color ( not polite to stare ).   His pants, like football tight athletic pants, are white.  But his head band and sweatshirt are pretty yellow.  Also, his facemask.   I am pretty sure he is handsome.   And, maybe, he is famous.

My favorite nail color is red ( only toes, I don't do fingernails any more ).   Red is almost like natural. It seems to go with everything.  I have never tried black or blue, but for me red goes with everything.

And my feet are now ready for sunny Arizona

I wonder if gentleman in yellow means pallets.   They are very versatile and sometimes you can get a free load, delivered !  The person on the other end should know by now that there is plenty of room for those pods.

Lady Z and I are in the finishing stages and gentleman in yellow. still on his phone,  slips into his.....yellow shoes...and goes out to the car.   Comes back, still on the phone, leaves $$ on the counter and away he goes

Now I am wondering, was there anybody on the other end of the phone, or perhaps,  he is deaf ?  because I can tell you ,
 for sure,
  right now,
   even I know
there is plenty of room for those pods right where they belong

end of story.

Random observation

Picture has nothing to do with my story
but it is a lovely bouquet
left at our door
without a card

Hard NOT to notice a rather short "lady" entering the Cafe. She was wearing a very puffy white jogging suit.  In her hand was a very puffy clear bag full of red hearts
( I was  thinking  she was thinking Valentines ).

She was on her phone.

I was alone and minding my own business

My food came.  Even though it is noonish I order breakfast, my favorite meal.  I bowed my head and was thankful.   Looked up to see "lady in white" still on her phone.  She was now eating French fries. I love French fries.

I am enjoying my eggs, potatoes and bacon. I love bacon.  Lady in white is still on her phone.

But wait...I see some movement in her booth. Yes, there is a little person sitting across from her !  Now I see very cute pink boots.

Getting full, I seldom eat all my meal and Nikki ( my favorite waitress ) had already brought a box and bag for me to take home the rest.  She has also brought me another cup of hot coffee.

My bill is paid.
Tip is given.
My chair is pushed in...
Step toward the booth of the lady in white and lean down to smile at the little gal in pink boots.  She looks up at me when I tell her " You have the cutest boots in the world"  She smiled back and said "thank you".  I told her that her hair was darling too.  It was several little braids that take Moms a long time to style.   She giggled.

I felt warm inside and a little...different...

Life is full of interesting moments...I don't want to miss any..especially when they are right in front of me.

missing her today

Hardly a day goes by that I do not think about and miss my Mother

This picture stays on my kitchen windowsill

Maybe it's because my friend Anita said goodbye to her mother last week and I was viewing the memorial to her.   The memories that come to mind ....so special.  Then I start to think about my own Mother and ...being a mother... and being a grandmother.

Then I began  reading cards that were sent to me 15 1/2 years ago and I could not stop.  Extra special when someone added a note, even if they had never met my mother.    Some that I could tell before opening, who had sent them.       Family, friends, one unsigned ...

 Then there was this one.

Well it was perfect

Different from all the others

My mother,  your mother, well different from all the others

Laughter and tears and highs and lows

This is life, life to be taken seriously

Yes is is a privilege
Yes there are times of laughter
Yes it happens every day

But

It is still a moment by moment reality that carries a responsibility
My opportunity as a mother is still open
and there are still grands that are part of my world

So,   Mom,   Grammy, Auntie,
Take advantage of every moment to love on those I love so much

Did I buy it?

Will I have some tomorrow morning?

Can you guess what it is ?

one hint:  two words.  both start with the same letter

when the day is busy

and you don't want to forget how special it was...

write about it..

Monday.. feeling a day late in getting our "Christmas box" to our family in Minnesota.

and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas  ♥

Package complete .. Darrell took it off to Staples and they think it might get there by December 24 !
no guarantee, but that's ok

Back to the next stage of gifts and things.

Hubby in and out with Foxy issues.(.that is the pick up).
Darrell and Damon drove to Spokane on Friday to look after property business. Snoqualmie pass clear    On Saturday the passes were closed    They  came home on Sunday... passes clear, but the engine light was going off and on.
Monday morning  Foxy would not get up the driveway.   Just ready to call AAA ...tried one more time
Bingo...she started.   A little shaky going down to the mechanic.
Now we are a little  shaky as we heard it could be a transmission problem.

About noon my friend Linda stopped by...just a short visit ..did not even have a cup of coffee, just wanted a signature on a petition... I understand enough to sign, but not explain now.

3:45 SIL   ( Dale ) came by to get a ride to his mechanic and borrow Sabrina ( she is my little red convertible ) and at the same time  there is a change of plans ...Sebastian ( our grandson ,age almost 11)  is going to spend the night !

Sebastian entertained himself on the piano for quite a while  ( has an ear for music, no lessons yet )
A little hungry.  Ritz crackers and cheese.    How about "Elf"..time for about 20 minutes

almost ready to leave for an early dinner and

5:05 friend, very good friend Helen came by with her annual loaf of Great Harvest bread and two jars of her strawberry freezer jam.  I was ready. I had her gift bag ready.
Her freezer door was left open, so she needed to come earlier than usual..Her freezer is 40 years old and still works !
Our vacuum is less than 3 years old and needed "help".  Don't ask how much that cost, but we had to pay and we had to pick it up before 6:00, closing.

Bye Helen

Off we go. Pick up a hopefully rejuvenated vacuum.
Next stop Crossroads.
First we leave a bag of  books at half price books ( they had been piling up and...well it was time to do something )  While I waited for my  ...what?  $1.49  payment, and purchase some cards.
The boys went to the food court and both were ready for Thai food.
I  found a different choice and then parked right by the best French fries, so added that and waited for the boys to join me.    Poor Seb, his order did not look at all like the picture.  He ate part of it  but it was not until later Darrell realized he should have taken it back.    Well, Seb was not real hungry after some cheese and a tube of  Ritz crackers. And he is a good sport.

At home we finish Elf and Seb has a Sorbet in a shell ( Costco, very fun)

We call and chat with Tiffany, Seb's mom.   She is having spinal surgery in the morning.   Seb makes her a card.

After Elf, we watch, my favorite  " The Very Best Christmas Pageant Ever".  I always laugh a little  and eyes swim a little.

A little after 9:00 time for bed..prayers and goodnight kisses never heard another peep until morning.

Just about the end of an almost normal day
Yes, we can manage with one vehicle
Yes, we are grateful for friends who feel free o drop by
Yes, we can trust the Lord for all family concerns, even Spinal surgery

a date with our little man

It started with a big hug at the bus stop

little walk up the hill

grab  a suitcase and off we go

First stop lunch

British Pantry with super friend Martha

Home to  relax and then

Then a little concoction of his own

Bubble bath
(  all three favorite towels because " I am much bigger now")

Loves to sleep in the rec room, on the floor by the wood stove
Listening to his ipad...stories of long ago

sleep.

Early morning
Waffles on the same "table" where he made his concoction

Then we file into Bella and off to school.
Singing:  "Genesis Exodus Leviticus"    up to
Lamentations...  still have some memory work to do

Only one wrong turn ( I can honestly blame GPS )

Arrived in plenty of time
A half day at school and then the first of his birthday party celebrations

And another tradition for the year- a sleep over at Grammy's , the right before his birthday so his parents can decorate for the party.
