On we go again
Garage sale of the century !
Always a fun time with my sister and always interesting to see what is interesting to other folks.
( does bother sister that someone shows interest in something, but then puts it down...)
This year the most interesting part is...Ofra.
About 6 years ago, this lady came to our garage sale and found many things that she liked....and bought them. in fact, she came back the next day and not only bought a few more things, but brought some of her art work that she was preparing for her rabbi.
Wait, doesn’t stop there.
We came back from a vacation and found a package at our front door. Ofra found a book that reminded her of the photo card that she had purchased... a photo of our farm in Spokane.
Well, now we know her address and we make sure she has the date for the next year, and the next and..
Well, this year, she called about 6 days before our sale, frantic. She has to move.
Downsize. A subtle hint that we would like to help and bingo, she was happy. Thursday evening, Friday morning and again Saturday morning, she brought items
She is also entertaining , just being herself. So we add that to our sale notes.
She loves to talk about her homeland. Got an hour?
She is very generous and thoughtful. First morning she brought homemade cookies. Next morning she brought breakfast bars.

Most of the sales that we appreciated were for my niece. A safe, which had the highest price $20 and a framed print that my sister said at least five times was ugly.
Seems there is always something that ends up in my house ...not sure how it gets there but...
A purse lamp...
And that brings joy too.
I read that somewhere
In the end, we gifted Value Village with a van full of delights. The wait in line was only 48 minutes.... people watching and then that feeling of “joy” that comes when you have parted with something that will bring happiness to someone else.
But wait....not over yet... a young man came back on Wednesday looking for something that his wife had wanted... sure enough, it did not make the V V trip and was waiting in a box in the rec room, just for him, for her.
Wait.. on Friday, a little fellow came back on his bike. He says he comes every year, mainly looking for something for his sister. Well, the garage was cleared out, but he asked about the safe. Gone. So, he will have to wait until next year for a treasure.
We could not get everything into the van, so we are trying to "sell" a couple items on line. But, we are ready to close the journal on our garage sale for this year.
oops... Tiffany took some things home and had a spur of the moment garage sale...Sold $10 for Ofra and $10 for me
Done !
I live an exciting life !
p,s, first year Ofra came: 2015
