Not a new word, but the first time I have ever seen it written in a sentence about .....me.

Here is what happened.

Hubby saw a tree down in our neighborhood ( If you know hubby, no further comments needed )
Hubby finds the owner and owner is happy for hubby to clear the tree away.
When hubby returns, the tree has been cut up and stacked, ready for loading.
Three pickup loads
Owner is 86.
He had some help.

Now that is the kind of neighbor I would like to meet.
Really out of my comfort to approach a stranger but I kept thinking that I should let him know that he is a "good neighbor"

So armed with a loaf of fresh baked bread I made the call
Stranger, neighbor and soon to be friend, invited me inside.
I got to hear a little bit about his family, see some pictures and also, express my appreciation for his helping hand to hubby.  He shared some memories of his 40 + years in our neighborhood.  We said goodbye.
He stood at the door until I had safely circled out of the driveway

Well, a day or two later  an email arrived
(I left our calling card , in case he might need our help someday )

<><><> Hi folks:

Wanted to thank you for taking the time to stop by to introduce yourself that was quite cavalier.  Also, wanted to thank you for the wonderful treats that were something very special.  That was my early Christmas.

Henry

I plan to use the word myself, soon,  but I think I should try to stay in touch with such a gentleman, cavalier (noun)!

I live an exciting life.
