Family does come first, and that is what happened over the weekend.
Our flight to the little town of Des Moines Iowa went through Minneapolis. So, much to our delight, our daughter and one and only granddaughter came to see us during the brief, two hour layover.
In Des Moines we were met by Mrs. Sikora and our weekend has begun
We meet the rest of the family at a great family Italian restaurant, then, homeward bound.
Ready for a good nights rest before the big event
Wedding Bells
Bride....groom...father of the groom
Future bachelors ...ready !
And then clean up
Thank you cousins and friends
But, the weekend is not over
Back at our friends
Ok. this will be tough and the winner is????
This group played amazing music, the audience sang great old hymns, and Darrell talked to the children about the wordless book
( if you are interested, just say the word and I will send you a copy )
Across the street...a different kind of walk in the park..
Morning coffee with another sweet Jackson
Breakfast....
( I am ordering her favorite cookbook....)
Then to a huge antique warehouse with an espresso bar and an elevator up and
"don't look down" stairway to return
Ready?
Now begins four floors of amazing old this and that
Photo by a brave young man....
Good bye buggy
and hello to new Des Moines
And then
The real, hard goodbye
Thankful for meaningful conversations with this lady and her family. A privilege to watch this family share their love for each other and the Lord
Taking home memories of a very special trip to
Des Moines Iowa
