Once a year it happens ....
many things were the same
hiding eggs
carrot cake
family and friends around the table
recently the resurrection eggs.
and that is where my heart beat a little faster
you see, this year some new friends were around the table. A young mom and her son. We had never met them ( friends of our daughter and her family ), so when her little man very easily and correctly answered all the questions that Grampy asked after each quotation from the resurrection eggs, my heart sang.
Started with John 3:16 For God so loved the World that He gave his only son and whosoever believes on him shall have everlasting life.
( all 3 little men knew that by heart )
but the other parts
What about the leaf ( palm leaf)
How many coins?
Why the purple cloth?
How about the dice?
the thorns
the sponge
the stone
( a few other voices chimed in )
but he knew all the details.
And, the last egg - empty
Everyone knew
The tomb was empty
Jesus has risen..
To know that story, To believe that story, To know and believe the verse John 3:16, well, that is the greatest, happiest part of any day.
And, we know that Jesus is even happier than we are.
Forgiven
Blessed
Thankful
