My first " Crepes in Paris "

Coco

We have heard about Coco and her fragrance and style of fashion, but I had a new appreciation for her, a different feeling when ClairE told me about the book she had been reading.
Coco was an orphan and raised by nuns.  They gave her a sewing machine and she learned to sew. Though often surrounded by snobby French girls, she did not give in to that.   She made hats, then clothing, then had her own fragrance.
So I wanted to visit the 31 Rue de Cambon where she had her first shop.  Well, it is nothing like it must have looked in those early years, but it was very amazing.
We were greeted at the door, by a doorman.  He smiled and welcomed us . Then the experience began

This is a famous stairway.
The second floor is off limits, except for High Couture and
 Coco's apartment 
On the third floor they assemble garments.
 The doorman offered to take our picture and 
then to pose with me. 

And then he pulled out a business card  from that little black table with her name and the famous address
"This is for you"  he said.
 ( i was so "in the moment" that I didn't even remember that I was having a bad hair day )

We are leaving Paris and will spend the next four days in Zurich Switzerland.

A short Sebastian story

just thinking about this again, makes me laugh out loud

Grammy gave Sebastian permission to eat  the last little pecan tart  ( less than an inch in width )

So, he was up on his chair, then down on the floor

  looking for his tart.

Grampy came in and asked what was happening.

 

It seemed like maybe Sebastian had eaten the tart and now was pretending it had fallen onto the floor.  

 

He repeated that it had fallen on the floor and broke up and he thought he should sweep it up

         ( remember that thought ).

There were no crumbs on the floor, so Grampy questioned him again.

Grammy asked if maybe the tart / cookie was in his tummy.

He said maybe.

 

the conversation went to thank you for telling us and glad you like the cookie
           ( similar to that )

 

fast forward to next morning:

Darrell  is behind me as I am getting something from the frig. 

"What is this?"   He pulls the tart off the seat of his pants....he had been sitting on it.

So, apparently, Sebastian had dropped the tart and it fell on the chair where we could not see it.

so small, etc.  but he thought it had fallen on the floor

     ( that was why he thought he should sweep it up )

so much to see, so much we have heard about....



This too, is a palace.....Versaille  Gold, crystal, more gold and wood .... fireplace wood.

at about 10:00 at night
and it was open to the public
for viewing.  

Still part of the palace. it goes on and on.
