Ok. time to go inside 

(though there are three huge Mickey gift shops in the lobby, there is not one Mickey in the hall, in the room or in the entry. )

We are on the 10th floor 

Amenities abound
Shampoo, conditioner, shower cap, vanity kit,
face soap, bath soap, shower gel, two tooth brush kits.
The large mirrors light up
The sinks
well, they are
contemporary,
but just try to get close to the faucet to wash your hair
or brush your teeth

quite contemporary.
Yes, that is a big screen TV.

He comes on Thursday

this Thursday he came with his own back pack
    He had organized it himself
      ( like mother like son )
    Extra socks, hat, clean shirt, granola bar
            and

His Bible. 

Yes, we were going to go to Bible Study together, so he was very prepared.

He came in the house, unloaded his gear, went right into the living room and
prepared a "tea party" for Grammy and Grampy and then relaxed with the newspaper

After Bible study we made our usual stop at McDonald's  ( don't tell mom )  
Home for a nap  ( only Grampy can help him get to sleep, he says - rocks the bed, sings, tells a story )

Then up and eager to play.   Hiding beanie babies,  car races,  some drawing...  He is very good at entertaining himself.

I like Zena's best  ( they are scottish shortbread, and I like them best too )  better take a photo....oops too late, they are gone. 


The end to a special day.  The best part was in his backpack and also in his heart !      
His favorite story? Noah ! 

February 10

Today, February 10  ..Sharon's birthday

Darrell's sister left us last summer.  Very suddenly.  We have so many memories and I posted some in July, Remembering Sharon.

But today, her birthday, has touched me more than I expected.  We would always talk on the phone and promise to go shopping and have lunch, soon.    

We can't go back.

 I posted one photo ..... makes our family smile

Always ready for an adventure
always wanting to please others
always wearing a smile

No wonder I am missing her even more today.

( Bel, there are some from Grant, Merry Merry, and You and Sam... special memories from special friends ) 

Then dust the window sil  

He calls himself...the organizer

We bundled up, still in our pj's

( who would know, His are so cute, and  Grammy chose sweats, but that is another story )

Our first stop is Trader Joe's
He found the lion and
picked a treat
Choices: tangerine, sucker,  sticker
and he chose...
I am sure you guessed right

Then to McDonalds
Kid meal and McFlurry
home
nap time
We were wondering if Grampy would be home
and Grammy was glad he was because little man said...
"Grampy is the only one who helps me go to sleep, he sings and rocks the bed and tells me stories "
And he did

and we all took a nap

Then
without warning
the power went out

                             

We are ready on the stairs

Ready with radio and more "lights"

Then Mommy came and we said goodbye
Went to Nick's for dinner
home
not much you can do without electricity
so.....
See you tomorrow

Well, the invitation came again and we said YES !

Missing me ?

Well, I was watching the sun rise 
                         10 floors up 
                                       in another time zone.

Yes, this is the sun rise
and yes

it is only 9:30 p.m. right now at home in Bellevue
but
my brain thinks it is 12:30 a.m.
so
my story will have to wait
( I will try to make it worth waiting for )
