Friday night

twas a long day

so, the time spent at Westminster was ......

pretty wonderful     

We were there in plenty of time and got seats just two rows back.
Sister and her hubby joined us.

This is the program - we followed along, adding the scripture references for each piece.
These are well known verses, but most of the music is not in your hymn book.   The choir and orchestra did a special presentation.


We got to sing with the Hallelujah piece .   

at the end, everyone stands, we applaud
The soloists and conductor and lead violinist come forward...
 and the ladies receive bouquets and the gentlemen envelopes.  


Observations:     I have been watching the orchestra.    ( the choir is way in the back so they are...safe ).    Everyone is wearing black.   Men in tuxedos and women  wear a dress or pants or whatever looks appropriate.
Appropriate ....
to me,  only one...in the second row.  
              Violinist.
She had long black hair, gently held to the side.
Her black dress was simple but stunning. 
Black 3 inch stiletto pumps. yes, I notice those things.
She was a picture to behold.  
Always sitting as a lady during the entire  performance 
  

I think you can spot her
she stands out
she is outstanding.

On a more spiritual level:
Job 19:25    I know that my redeemer lives !
I had just read that and was amazed that there it was in the old Testament ..... a testament to the new .   

The story is beautiful
The story is true
The story never gets old

Sing aloud to God your praise !

another day

Restaurant hopping

well not all in one night - you call that something else,and we don't do that.
but
we do try to grab  a special when it comes along. ,,,,,,

and
Ivars has a special every year, when they celebrate his birthday.
So, Tuesday, March 20 ( which was also my little girls 38th birthday .... Not  sure how long Ivar has been gone, but his restaurant lives on. )
 we helped celebrate Ivars 113 th birthday.
Buy one entree and get the second for $ 1.13
we were not the only ones celebrating

At this family, friendly, casual place there was such a mix of folks.
tall, small, colorful, jeweled, happy, not so happy, you name it 
Standing in line you can scan the room and be entertained at no cost .


OH, there is Angela and her sister and their hubbies.
And Zena and her friends Paul and Vivian.

We quickly made our way to their tables to pay our respects and then

just before leaving, i caught a glimpse, again, of a lady with the most beautiful complexion..
so
I told her so...

She seemed happy to hear.


A pleasant evening...
much to be thankful for.

Monday night.

Brazilian Steakhouse.

The fine dining was having a special - $39. for women ( it is Woman's history month - who knew ? )   instead of $59.

No worries,
we went into the casual area for appetizers.
This too, is family friendly, even with white table cloths and china and crystal
And food   .

this section has 5 tables and we chose the corner spot.
In the opposite corner was a group , and it kept growing, but it looked like family.  There was one little girl, maybe 8 years old.   She was entertaining some by reading a little flip book... 
What is the golden rule... that is about all I could hear.  A few more people came to her table.

Very, very good.  in fact, next month, Restaurant week, we might come back for the real special , but no date yet.

On our way out, I stopped at the other table and caught the eye of the little girl.
"Can you tell me what the golden rule is?"
she paused for a second and then said
" Treat others like you would like to be treated"
I told her, "thank you, that was just what I needed to know." 

and handed her a $1.

She smiled and said thank you
"and  now I have some money to add to my wallet"
and I said
"And save !"

Her daddy said, " and that is another lesson, to save 
thank you "

bringing smiles, we receive smiles

Monday  nights

Sally tapes Hallmark movies.... she makes coffee ( decaf )
 and I come over and we watch a couple.
Sometimes she tempts me with chocolate cake
sometimes popcorn ( hard to say no to that )
But mostly it is about enjoying some good clean usually romantic almost true stories.

And that is what happened this week.
we watched the much anticipated " When calls the Heart wedding"
and then a spring time story.

Then she walks me out to Sabrina
We hug and say
"they lived happily ever after"

but wait...

did they?

did we get distracted by that beautiful duet
It was in Italian, but it was very pretty and Sally knew that it was about children.. very sweet.

when the ads come on we usually ff,  but this time she scrolled down to this duet she could hardly wait for me to hear.
and
yes
we forgot all about the happy ending to the springtime  story

will have to wait until next week

I live an exciting life.

I mean,



you how many ladies take orders
  
   Ok, I have called myself an Avon lady for   40 years 
                                  ( I was a child door knocker )
   But, not much of a sales gal 
                                  ( not sure why, it does run in my family )
   And for the past 10 or 15 years with  my customer list shrinking,
   I was buy brochures,  taking them to  a few final, not so faithful  fans, and then recycling most. 
                                ( I think on line shopping and Bartell's could be a factor)
   Kind of a waste. And, well, it's complicated. 

So, I wrote a note, explaining this would be the last "door to door brochure" and made my final run.

Yesterday,  a beautiful card came in the mail
Not only that, a Starbucks gift card !

Who does that?
A retirement card AND gift, for their Avon Lady ?
